Rambler Group launches entrance to unified account by fingerprint

MOSCOW, Jan 22 (PRIME) -- Russian media holding Rambler Group has launched authorization for a unified profile of its services, Rambler ID, by fingerprint, the company said Wednesday in a statement.

“Rambler Group has been one of Russia’s first to introduce a system of safe authentication via a new technology of electronic keys, WebAuthn. It allows users to get authorized with Rambler ID via an open cryptographic key instead of a password, which strengthens the account’s security strongly,” the company said.

Now to enter an account a user should scan a fingerprint on a smartphone or a laptop after creating a special electronic key.
